Welcome to LYNDON BAINES JOHNSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL the home of the Angels. LBJ was established in 1974 and is located on 140 Felis St. Tamuning. At the heart of a growing tourism and business community, LBJ Elementary School serves kindergarten and first grade students in the areas of Tamuning and Tumon. It is one of the twenty-six elementary schools in the Guam Department of Education serving 300 students comprised of a diverse ethnic student population.

MESSAGE FROM THE ADMINISTRATORS

Welcome to SY 2012-2013 at Lyndon Baines Johnson Elementary School "Home of the Angels"! It is our pleasure to extend a warm greeting as you and your child enter/re-enter the magic and wonder of the LBJ campus. We are looking forward to an exciting and productive school year. As a fully accredited school, staffed by competent and caring faculty and staff, your child is, indeed, in good hands! We are certain that your child will gain learning experiences that will prepare him/her for a successful future. Therefore, it is our hope that with a strong partnership of school, home and commuity, your child will cultivate a love for learning.

Our expectation for this school year is to continue to support each other's efforts to prioritize student learning. At the end of your child's school years in Kindergarten & First Grade, it is our dream that she/he will embrace the idea of life-long learning and approach each challenge as an opportunity for growth and development towards the achievement of full potential. First Grade School Supplies, School Year 2011-2012


Dear Parents,

We would greatly appreciate your assistance in providing the following supplies for your child during the school year 2011 – 2012. Please label items with your child’s name and bring them to your child’s classroom on the first day of school Tuesday, August 9, 2011 or before Monday August 22, 2011.

(4)Composition notebooks – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Quarter (black marble, sewn binding)

(2) Poly portfolios (plastic) with side pockets with prongs

(2) Boxes 24-count crayons (Crayola recommended)

(1) Dozen # 2 pencils with erasers

(2) Large white jumbo erasers

(1) Pencil sharpeners

(1) Box of Crayola colored pencils (sharpened)

(1) 8 oz. bottle of Elmer’s All Purpose Glue

(1) Container of Huggies baby wipes

(1) Box of Kleenex facial tissues

(1) Backpack or book bag (for children’s safety, large bags or bags with wheels are not recommended)

A set of extra clothing (shirt, shorts/pants, underwear and socks in a labeled ziplock bag) to be kept in child’s bag

Rain gear (A raincoat or poncho with hood, no umbrellas, please)

(1) Construction (Multi – colored tablet)

(1) 2” Binder

(10) Sheet Protectors

(1) Fiskars Scissors (Blunt)

* (3) Plain white T-shirt (for school activities)

*will be requested upon need throughout school year 2011-2012
