Welcome to LYNDON BAINES JOHNSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL the home of the Angels. LBJ was established in 1974 and is located on 140 Felis St. Tamuning. At the heart of a growing tourism and business community, LBJ Elementary School serves kindergarten and first grade students in the areas of Tamuning and Tumon. It is one of the twenty-six elementary schools in the Guam Department of Education serving 300 students comprised of a diverse ethnic student population.

MESSAGE FROM THE ADMINISTRATORS

Welcome to SY 2012-2013 at Lyndon Baines Johnson Elementary School "Home of the Angels"! It is our pleasure to extend a warm greeting as you and your child enter/re-enter the magic and wonder of the LBJ campus. We are looking forward to an exciting and productive school year. As a fully accredited school, staffed by competent and caring faculty and staff, your child is, indeed, in good hands! We are certain that your child will gain learning experiences that will prepare him/her for a successful future. Therefore, it is our hope that with a strong partnership of school, home and commuity, your child will cultivate a love for learning.

Our expectation for this school year is to continue to support each other's efforts to prioritize student learning. At the end of your child's school years in Kindergarten & First Grade, it is our dream that she/he will embrace the idea of life-long learning and approach each challenge as an opportunity for growth and development towards the achievement of full potential. DEED Promotes "Trustworthiness"

During the month of March the DEED teachers will be discussing and reading books about “trustworthiness”. Most importantly, as parents, you want to trust your child to make the right choices when you are not around. Trust should be established between both parent and child at home. Like all the other monthly values that were taught, it should always starts with the parents teaching by example. Are You A Trustworthy Person? For each family member, take the self-evaluation and decide for yourself.

ESL Valentine Message

Have a heart! Let us continue to move forward and make positive things happen in your child’s learning experience of the English language. Use Valentine's Day to give your child a meaningful opportunity to learn and use figurative language in English. Valentine's Day provides a great way to introduce a new idea of English language expressions to your child. This gives him/her an occasion to extend his/her communication skills in informal settings. It provides your child with experience in learning and using language "chunks" and negotiating meaning with native speakers. Such figurative language such as “from the bottom of my heart means to really mean something”; “to have a heart of gold means to care about other people”; or “to be soft hearted means to be sympathetic”, will help your child reinforce these skills and improve his/her oral language skills. Wishing you all a hearty month and loveable Valentine’s Day!
